If the books on your shelf are not read regularly and/or do not “spark joy”, they are simply dust collectors…move ‘em on out!

  • Visit the “Friends of the Library of Hawaii” page to learn about what kind of books can be donated and how to do it.

  • Borrow books from the library, instead of buying your own. Check out the “OverDrive” app available with a Hawaii library card where you can read and/or listen to digital/audio versions of books.

  • Set a retention period for magazines (i.e. “I will keep magazines for up to two months”). Ditch any magazine issues that are beyond the period you set. Don’t worry…another issue is already making its way to you!
