An overstuffed fridge puts a damper on cooking and often results in wasted food, but an organized fridge makes meal planning and meal prepping much easier.

  • Take EVERYTHING out of the fridge (yes, even condiments and infrequently-used items). Sort like items together and discard any spoiled food.
  • Wipe down the entire fridge, even pulling out drawers to rinse in the sink if needed. You now have a (literally) clean slate on which to return your fridge items.
  • Store items by type (make labels even, if you feel it will help with maintenance. If there are certain items that will be expiring shortly, make a plan to cook with them in the next couple days and place them front and center for remembrance and easy access!
